About Mona
I am passionate about French poetry and literature, and especially wish to foster interest in French for my students.
My teaching style reflects that of both “challengers” and “artists”. I am a challenger in the sense that I seek to find new ways to challenge my students to approach topics and questions from a multitude of perspectives. This restructuring of the learning process to surpass bias and one-sided answers is something I see as essential for effective learning and teaching. I am an artist because I do not adhere to one singular teaching or learning strategy, as all students can benefit from different strategies.
In combining these two teaching styles, I have developed a narrative-based or story-telling teaching style in which my lesson plans are presented in the manner of a narrative. I have developed this approach through various experiences and inspirations such as Martha Nussbaum's writing and others.

I take great pleasure in teaching French, as well as practicing it, and am proud to have the privilege to teach one of the national languages of Canada. Prior to, and during my undergraduate studies at Glendon campus, York University, I have pursued various career experiences, such as an internship at the NATO association of Canada. I teach French grammar, French reading and conversational French to students of all levels from grade 4 to adult.
J’emploie de nombreuses approches pour aider les étudiants à apprendre le français. Ces approches ont deux buts : 1) Pour faciliter la manière dont l’étudiant apprend, et 2) Pour assurer que l’intérêt et la passion pour la langue française est priorisée. J’aime implémenter la méthode de « story-telling » dans mes cours, ou j’invite l’étudiant soit à lire une histoire et expliquer comment un élément de leur vie se relie à l’histoire, soit à créer leur propre histoire en employant ce qu’ils ont appris pendant le cours.
