About Julia
I recently graduated magna cum laude from Arizona State University with my Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. During my time at ASU, I worked as both a tutor and a supplemental instruction leader for our managerial accounting course. During my time as a supplemental instruction leader, I supported six different sessions, totaling over 1,000 students and guided them through each chapter of managerial accounting. I also worked as an individual tutor concurrently, which allowed me to work one-on-one with students and approach the course in a different way. I truly enjoy tutoring and seeing concepts finally click for students. I am currently studying for the CPA exam and plan to work in accounting after completing my certification. My background allows me to break difficult topics into clear, manageable steps, and I bring a supportive, structured approach to every session. I’m passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and truly understand the “why” behind accounting concepts-- not just memorize them.

With accounting, the lightbulb moment usually comes from practice as well as understanding the "why" behind processes and concepts, so that is what I emphasize in my sessions. I break topics down step-by-step, use real examples, and check understanding through guided practice. A typical session includes reviewing confusing areas, walking through structured problems together and then giving students the confidence to solve similar problems independently. I’ve taught managerial and cost accounting for nearly two years through Supplemental Instruction, supporting hundreds of students with proven results. My teaching style is patient, clear, and highly interactive-- ideal for college students, adult learners and anyone who wants to strengthen their accounting foundation.
