Panto Season at Theatre Royal Wakefield, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Various local theatre productions including: “Sideshow,” “Guys and Dolls,” “Fiddler on The Roof,” “The Sound of Music,” “Annie,” “The Pajama Game,” “The Mikado,” “Ruddigore,” and many more.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

I have an up-to-date DBS Certificate.

- Where and with whom did you train?

I trained at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, studying under such distinguished and experienced drummers as Pete Riley, Mike Sturgis, Paul Elliott, Stu Roberts, Alun Harries and Jon Duff.

Since graduating from ACM I have also studied with the UK's No.1 Drum Educator, Bob Armstrong.

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

I belong to the Musicians Union.

- Tell me about some of your current students.

The students described are just a few examples of the students I teach:

12 year old boy who was given a drum kit for Christmas, is relatively new to the instrument. Currently, I am taking him through some basic grooves and time feels, whilst playing along to music he enjoys, as well as teaching him the basis of good technique, and reading music.

19 year old female university student, who had been learning for 6 months previous to lessons with me, and is interested in playing as much music as she can, so she can learn about the role of the drum kit within a band, with the hope that she can form her own band with peers from University. This is a priority for now, but we also hope to tackle some Grade 5 material soon, with the hope of entering her into the exam.

16 year old girl who again was a complete beginner - she has enjoyed the sight-reading and technique side of the lessons so we are making some good progress with that, at the same time as learning songs she enjoys, and getting her to play along to music from her favourite bands.

21 year old male student who played drums when he was a teenager but hadn't played for 4 years. Despite his drumming hiatus, he still had a good level of ability when he came to me, so we are looking at honing those skills, working on his timekeeping, technique and reading - again, all whilst playing along to music he enjoys.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

I can say with an honest heart that I really enjoy teaching, and am enthusiastic about getting others excited about the drum kit, and the immense pleasure that can be drawn from playing it.

As well as my teaching, I am still very active as a working drummer, and I feel the experience I continue to gain as a performer is invaluable in terms of passing knowledge onto others.

I have developed my own approach to teaching, but am very sensitive to the interests and ambitions of the student, and will always tailor my lesson accordingly.

Please do get in touch if you feel you would like to study with me, or if you have an queries of any nature at all.

I hope to hear from you.
