About Katie
Stepping into a new language can sometimes feel intimidating, but I am here to prove that learning French can be engaging, stress-free, and incredibly rewarding.
As a Grade 12 French honors student, I bring a unique blend of academic excellence and fresh, relevant perspective to our sessions. Because I am currently navigating the Ontario school system myself, I know exactly what teachers are looking for on rubrics, oral exams, and grammar quizzes. I don’t just teach the language, I share the exact organizational habits, study tips, and confidence-building tools that have allowed me to maintain top marks in my own studies.
My approach is built on absolute professionalism, punctuality, and structure. Every single online lesson is fully prepared in advance, tailored to the student's unique curriculum, and delivered in a supportive, positive environment. I take my role as a mentor seriously, ensuring that our time together is highly productive, focused, and organized around clear learning goals.
Whether your child is trying to catch up on complex grammar rules, prepare for an upcoming immersion presentation, or build casual conversational fluency, they will find a patient, encouraging ally in me. I am fully committed to helping them turn frustration into breakthrough moments and proud report cards!
Let's work together to unlock their full potential and build lasting bilingual confidence.

My teaching approach is highly communicative, interactive, and personalized. I focus heavily on building conversational confidence and practical application rather than relying on strict, dry memorization. My goal is to create a positive, stress-free space where making mistakes is viewed as an essential part of growing bilingual skills.
My primary methodologies include:
• The Communicative Approach: We prioritize real-life language use and interactive dialogues to build instant speaking and listening confidence.
• Task-Based Learning: We tackle specific objectives, like discussing a weekend plan, reading a story, or structuring an essay, to make lessons practical and highly engaging.
• Dynamic Scaffolding: I break down complex French grammar and vocabulary into bite-sized, digestible rules that align directly with Ontario school expectations.
