About Rebecca

I am a freelance visual artist and photographer and my practice focuses on people and their relationship with the natural environment. I really enjoy supporting others through their own creative practices.

I have exhibited my work at The Oxford University Museum of Natural History, the Charing Cross Library in Soho, London, and presented recent work to the Design Museum in Kensington, London. I am skilled in photographic composition, long-form photography, mixed media projects, portraiture, book-making, exhibition design and curation.

I hold an MA (distinction) in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from University of the Arts London. I also hold an MSc in biodiversity from Imperial College London and a BA in biological sciences from University of Oxford.

About the lesson

I can support a range of photography needs at beginners and improvers levels and I can also help those with more experience who are working on more involved projects.

I offer tailored guidance and a sounding board in a supportive space to help you think about composition, meaning, format, techniques and experimentation to make images you enjoy. In my tutorials you will receive:

- portfolio feedback and suggestions for development;
- exercises to unlock new possibilities in your image-making;
- support with some technical aspects e.g. technique;
- suggestions of resources to inspire you: concepts, exhibitions, texts, films and artwork from across different disciplines that I have found helpful in my own practice.

Tutorials are 1 hour. I offer an initial 30-minute free introductory chat to help you decide if I'm the right tutor for you. Block-booking is available (see rates). Depending on your goals I am happy to propose a bespoke, more structured set of tutorials where you can explore several learning points over a longer period of time, or develop a particular body of work in more depth.
