About Vera

Hi there, hope this finds you in good health and spirit! I am a native Chinese speaker, both Cantonese and Mandarin, mom of a 8yo living in Nottingham. Language teaching is no doubt my life long passion. I've been teaching English to learners from elementary to intermediate levels in China and Chinese language to BBC (British Born Chinese) kids while living in the UK. Very much hope my passion in languages and expertise in education can be of the wind beneath the wings of your success in learning Chinese.

About the lesson

I base my classes in the need of individual learner (learner centred approach). With the ultimate goal in mind, I will be working closely with my students, adjust teaching/learning materials along the way. Step by step, together we can reach the thousand mile! (A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, “不积跬步，无以至千里”， said the Chinese philosopher Laozi.)

Vera's response
I'm always impressed with Esther's determination and enthusiasm towards Chinese learning. Very proud of her managed to count from 1-100 in Chinese, and keep working on the one of the most difficult parts of Chinese language -- writing the characters!!
