About Roberto
Hello! I'm Roberto, a Classics tutor originally from Rome. I hold a BA and MA in Classics from the Sapienza University of Rome and am currently completing a PhD in Classics and Ancient History at Durham University. I’ve spent years immersed in the languages, literature, and history of the ancient world—and I love helping others discover just how fascinating and rewarding these subjects can be. Teaching is not just something I do—it's something I genuinely enjoy. I take pride in creating a learning environment that is thoughtful, supportive, and intellectually stimulating. My goal is to help students feel confident, motivated, and curious—whether they’re preparing for exams, tackling difficult texts, or studying out of pure interest. With experience teaching students of all levels, I bring both deep subject knowledge and a flexible, student-centred approach to my lessons. I believe that learning Latin, Ancient Greek, or Ancient History should be engaging, rewarding, and intellectually stimulating. My approach is always tailored to each student's needs and goals—whether you're studying for school or university, brushing up your skills, or exploring the ancient world out of personal interest. I aim to build confidence through a solid understanding of grammar and vocabulary, while also encouraging students to appreciate the richness of ancient texts and cultures. Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are conducted online, but I’m flexible with structure and timing depending on what works best for you. I combine exercises, reading, translation practice, and discussion, always with a focus on making ancient languages feel alive and enjoyable to study. I hold a BA and MA in Classics from the Sapienza University of Rome and am currently completing a PhD in Classics and Ancient History at Durham University. I’ve taught students at various levels, from absolute beginners to advanced learners, and I always strive to create a relaxed, supportive environment that encourages curiosity and growth. Whether you're a school or university student, or simply passionate about the ancient world, I’d be delighted to help you on your Classics journey!
