About Justine
Hi my name is Justine and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! I have been teaching and tutoring since 2020 in North Carolina. My experience is primarily in elementary and high school special education. I hold a Master of Education in Learning and Technology as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Special Education. My teaching certifications include Elementary K-6 and Special Education K-12, making me a highly qualified tutor for your child. Please note, for 7th - 12th grade students my lessons will focus on special education needs (current reading and math levels) and not on grade level content. In other words, I do not tutor high school math :)

My goal is to make learning fun and engaging for all learners. To do this, I use a lot of praise and excitement to keep students motivated and interested in their lessons. I believe that building positive relationships with my students is key to their success, whether that be online or in person. I strive to create a safe and welcoming learning environment where every learner feels valued and supported.
I love when a student has that "ah-ha" moment and their eyes light up when the material they are working on has clicked and makes sense. I also enjoy when students love to share things with me that they are excited about.
I take time to get to know each student and complete assessments with them to determine where we should begin our lessons. I also work to explain and teach different strategies to find what works best for each student.
