About Daniel Roy
Hi there, I'm Daniel! I have a BA from the Ivy League in the US, and an MLitt and PhD from St Andrews in Scotland. I have 25 years' experience teaching English and Drama at secondary and university levels. Most recently, I worked as a university professor teaching English literature, creative writing, public speaking and theatre in Rome, Italy. Prior to that, I was Head of Theatre Arts at an international school in Shanghai, China, where I was also artistic director of a small theatre company. When I was Deputy Head of Sixth Form at an independent school in Cambridge I helped hundreds of students succeed with both UCAS applications and Oxbridge entry. I'm also a prize-winning author and public speaking coach. In other words, I have lots of skills to share!

Uni and A Level students love that my teaching style is focused and fun. I have a BA (Hons 1st cl.), an MLitt (Dist.) and a PhD (St Andrews); my students really appreciate the depth and breadth of subject knowledge I bring to my disciplines, namely English literature, theatre and drama, each of which I teach with boundless enthusiasm and empathy, while having as much fun as possible. In short, the thousands of students I have taught really appreciate that I am an excellent communicator, that I love my subjects and that I am dedicated to nurturing the best results.
