About Emily
Hello!
My name is Emily and I’m an English Literature graduate currently on a gap year before I head for a Masters degree at Cambridge later this year.
I really enjoy teaching and plan to be a teacher in the future, so I have decided tutoring and helping out students like you is what I want to do!
I want you to know that these sessions are built around you, and my planning and preparation is based on exactly what you need. Whether you are a little confused at Shakespeare or are mystified by poems, I’m here to help.

My lessons are tailored to your personal needs. It is the student who is the centre of the learning, therefore I like to base the teaching on what they feel is best. Comprehension of the text, exam technique and striving for unique ideas and arguments for texts are what is most important and I will do everything you need to achieve your goals.
A session is typically 1 hour long, and we can specifically focus on what you need. Lessons can be more based on the texts you need for your exams, exam techniques or practicing writing exam responses together.
At GCSE and A level I achieved A*, so I have been through the same exam processes over the last few years as you! In the past, I have tutored friends and family as well as volunteering in schools to assist in understanding English Literature.
