About Ria
Salut !, I am a current student at the Australian National University studying the bachelor of health science, continuing with French as my elective subject and have a high distinction average. I have been studying French since I was 5 years old and completed VCE French in 2023. Others ask me why I have continued French for so long and the reason is that I genuinely love the language, and have a desire to share this passion with others. For many years, the final oral exam was a source of anxiety for me, a shared experience for many students. My hope is to share my knowledge, advice and experience with other beginner/intermediate students to boost your confidence in the language and help you maximise your potential !

I offer 1hr online French classes aimed at beginner/intermediate students. Having completed VCE French successfully and continued to achieve high distinctions in university French, I understand the challenges of language learning and offer advice and strategies to improve and become fluent.
Lessons are tailored to your individual needs and will help with every aspect of language learning including listening practice, reading comprehension tips, essay writing, conversation practice and explanation of the intricacies of french grammar to boost your confidence in the language !
I have 3 years experience tutoring younger high school students in the subject and have seen the difference that a bit of extra practice and understanding can make for students.
For VCE students specifically I achieved a raw 43, (scaled 51) out of 50 and 100% on the final oral exam, therefore I can correct SACs, help write and practice orals, and also offer specific written and oral exam advice to maximise your potential, as well as filling in any gaps in your knowledge.

Ria has helped me a lot over the past year in my French writing, grammar, reading and speaking. Ria is an amazing teacher as she is patient, kind, and intelligent. Last year I had an oral assessment and she helped me fix my pronunciation and extend my knowledge to score me a 100% which I could not have achieved without her expertise. I would recommend Ria to any French student whether they are in the younger years or in VCE.
