About Ash

I am a friendly, enthusiastic and dedicated aspiring teacher with a genuine passion for education. Having recently completed my A-levels in history, psychology and sociology, I understand both the challenges and rewards of studying these subjects. I enjoy helping others develop their knowledge and confidence, and I find it rewarding to see students make progress and achieve their goals. I am also planning to pursue a career in teaching, and tutoring allows me to gain valuable experience while making a positive difference to students learning. My aim is to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their academic skills.

About the lesson

My tutoring lessons are designed for AQA A-level Psychology, sociology and history students and typically last one hour. I use a student-centred approach, adapting lessons to individual strengths, weaknesses and learning styles. Lessons focus on developing subject knowledge through active recall and spaced repetition through fun and engaging activities. They also focus on exam technique, learning how to perform best under pressure and essay-writing skills to ensure knowledge can be displayed effectively. Confidence will be developed through clear explanations, active questioning, model answers and regular practice. I will also support students with homework, revision planning and effective study strategies to help them stay organised and make consistent progress!

After studying psychology alongside Ash, I can honestly say her knowledge and way of explaining topics and content has been absolutely crucial in my understanding of the subject. I’d thoroughly recommend her to anybody as she goes through topics in such detail every time, her guidance has been undeniably useful across the course of psychology and I’m sure that many would benefit from her expertise.
