I am willing to teach the archaeology of Britain and Latin America to students of all levels and ages up to the level of Taught Masters. I am also happy to adapt my teaching to the requirements of the individual or group concerned.
I have been teaching archaeology and military history since 2000, and in that time I have given one-to-one tutorials, small group seminars, lectures to groups of up to 50 and led field trips for over 100 members. I have taught students at Continuing Education, undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and my students have gone on to receive certificates and diplomas, BAs, BSCs, MAs, MScs and doctorates.
I have a degree (BA Hons) in Archaeology from the University of Wales, MA in Archaeology from the University of Liverpool and am completing my PhD in Archaeology and Military History at the University of Glasgow.
I am a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, member of the Prehistoric Society, adminstrator of the Histories of Archaeology Research Network and Council Member of the Church Monuments Society. I am the editor of the journal Church Monuments.
I have over twenty years experience in the fields of archaeology and military history. I have worked in the Essex Regiment Museum and taught at the University of Liverpool and the University of Glasgow. I have also participated in archaeological fieldwork across Britain and Ireland. I have published both academic and more general work in these fields.
