About Daniel
I have a BA (RIBA part 1) in architecture from the architectural association. My fellow classmates often came to me for advice on projects and software and I was often invited to sit on jury panels while I was studying.
Often what people need is a fresh pair of eyes and ideas to stimulate the project conversation and development. Problem solving is a good skill to have, yet what I see people tend to lack is problem finding - critical assessment and thought process in even the most impossible and fictional of projects - which is where I can best assist.

The student starts off with a formal presentation of their project - whichever stage it is at.
We will then sit down and go through their brief, discuss what has caught their interest and how they have interpreted the task.
Then in similar fashion to a jury, the work they have presented will be questioned until we find what the key project threads are and if/how they currently differ from the intended direction.
Once the students interest and project propositions are clear both to myself and to them, often knowing all the pieces doesn’t mean you know what your building, then we take a step back and approach the project methodically:
Concept, context, culture, site, environment, programme, form, materiality, and narrative.
Naturally, while possible, it is unusual that students approach me from scratch - usually they are working towards a jury or pinup Or have run out of creative momentum and need a fresh set of eyes to move forward. In which case I am able to help structure their presentation, help them rehearse and be critical in terms of what work is missing and realistic to complete considering time.
