About Liam
I am a versatile musician with proficiency in multiple instruments, including piano, drums, guitar, bass, and vocals. As a member of Bucks Music Group, I have had the privilege of being signed by a reputable music agency.
As a composer I have published orchestral compositions and short film scores, showcasing my skills and contributions to the realm of classical music. Furthermore, I am the sole songwriter for the band "Midnight Repost," where my work has received airplay on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Essex in the indie rock genre.
In addition to my achievements in the music industry, I bring four years of valuable experience in one-on-one tutoring. This experience has allowed me to share my knowledge and passion for music with others, contributing to the development of aspiring musicians.
I hold degrees from both the University of Hertfordshire and California State University Long Beach, where my academic focus centered on specialised fields within the realm of music. My studies delved into Music for Film and Games, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies involved in crafting music for visual media. Additionally, I specialised in Jazz theory, honing my knowledge of the genre's unique structures and improvisational elements. In my personal music studio you will have access to a plethora of musical instruments and equipment including electric, bass and acoustic guitars, Moog synths, keyboards, mixing console, full drum kit, and much more. Everything you could ever need for your journey!
These lessons are designed for individuals with a foundational understanding of at least one instrument, as we explore the fascinating process of song creation across various styles and genres.
In our sessions, we will unravel the intricate layers that form a song, breaking down the anatomy of music creation. Whether you're passionate about classical, jazz, rock, pop, or any other genre, these lessons cater to a diverse range of musical interests. The aim is to empower you with the knowledge and skills to craft your own compositions and understand the methods behind different musical styles.
Expect an engaging and collaborative environment, where your existing instrumental proficiency becomes the gateway to unlocking the secrets of songwriting. We'll explore the fundamentals of melody, harmony, rhythm, and lyrics, dissecting the creative techniques employed by musicians across genres. The goal is not only to enhance your technical abilities but also to nurture your creativity and imagination as a music creator.
Lessons will be a duration of 50 minutes to allow for a 10 minute changeover between bookings.
