About Kathleen
Technique is often treated as a chore, but it is actually the source of your freedom. Even the most complex shifting positions become intuitive once the foundation is set.
I use my MMus training to break down difficult intonation and rhythm problems into manageable parts. Rhythm and timing are not just mechanical requirements, but the heartbeat of the piece. Teaching provides a rare chance to observe the precise moment when a student finally understands how to balance their weight against the violin bow. I hold an MMus from the Schulich School of Music, an achievement that informs every minute I spend with working professionals and younger musicians. Growing up in Montreal allowed me to synthesize classical rigour with a refined, gentle teaching style.
