About Charounda
Playing music started for me as a way to sit on porches and share songs, which might surprise those who expect a formal conservatory start. I hold a BM Music Performance degree in fiddle and spent 9 years touring across the American South. My approach centers on the oral tradition and keeping a curious mind.
Dealing with intermediate learners and returning hobbyists is my primary focus. I teach with 13 years of experience behind me. It is just music. You will find my style is encouraging.

Intonation is a physical language. Tuning by ear matters more than a digital screen. We focus on bowing technique and left hand agility to make the instrument sing.
My 13 years of experience playing bluegrass festivals shapes how I teach rhythm and timing. Shifting positions or preparing for ABRSM or Trinity exams becomes a natural extension of your ear training.
I bring my degree in fiddle to every session. You might find tone production requires patience, but we will get there. Expect a relaxed atmosphere while we work on your progress.
