About Arnav

I am a Year 13 Student who studies at Tiffin School in South-West London, a top grammar school in the country, currently sitting at a A*A*B prediction holding offers from 4 Russell Group Universities.

Through both my own studies and experience supporting students in a range of different environments in school and out, I have built a strong understanding of subject content alongside the specific skills and techniques exam boards reward.

Having gone from a student who initially struggled with concentration, revision, and fully understanding how to approach exams, to someone who now learns confidently and consistently performs well academically, I understand firsthand the difference that the right guidance and teaching style can make. That experience is a large part of why I enjoy tutoring as I want to help other students develop the same confidence, understanding, and effective approach to learning that helped me improve so significantly.

About the lesson

I plan to tutor students through 1-to-1, structured and exam-focused lessons tailored to the individual learner. As someone who has very recently studied GCSE Design Technology myself, I have a strong understanding not only of the content, but also of how marks are awarded and the common mistakes students make in both theory and coursework.

Rather than simply rushing through topics, I focus on building a secure understanding of the fundamentals before developing exam technique and application skills. I adapt my pace and explanations to suit each student, ensuring concepts are properly understood and confidence is built alongside accuracy.

I place a strong emphasis on:
• Clear explanations using straightforward language
• Logical, step-by-step approaches to design and theory questions
• Developing confidence with both exam content and NEA coursework
• Applying knowledge effectively in exam-style questions and design tasks

Alongside teaching, I can provide access to resources from both my school and my own revision notes, as well as examples and references from my full GCSE DT coursework slides to help students better understand expectations and achieve high marks.

Arnav has been tutoring me for my upcoming Geography GCSE exam for roughly the past 6 months, and his direct approach has got me from a predicted grade 6 to a grade 9 ( the highest you can get) thanks to the clear and simple way he explains complex concepts to me. He has done this albeit only taking geography for GCSE, so I can imagine that the tutoring that he provides for Design and Technology, which he takes for A level , will be even better if that's possible.
