About the lesson

My name is Susanna Hotham I have a degree in Computer Animation from Bournemouth University. I am interested in teaching the principles of drawing for animation, and also stop motion, sequential thinking for animation to anyone of any age! Observation is the key to an effective drawing and is the forefront of the lessons, that coupled with thinking through shapes so that you can build your own drawings from the ground up. I believe in understanding how objects exist in space as the foundation for good drawing practice, as if you understand how objects exist in space you can draw anything! Thinking sequentially through stop motion is a good avenue for exploring making and movement of textures or people, you can allow your mind to wander from the abstract to character, which I believe can unleash the creativity within us all. There is no age too young or too old, I am happy to teach anyone what I have learned over the years.
