I love teaching because I love painting and I want to help more people learn how to use these brilliant materials. I’m a sociable person and the artist lifestyle is a bit lonely. Teaching gives me variety, extra income, and a constant challenge.

I specialise in portraiture and figurative art.
You tell me what it is that you are looking for, and we will take it from there.
Finding high quality tuition in figurative painting is pretty difficult, and it does depend on what you want to learn.
I teach many methods and palettes but I start students out on an alla prima method (painting a picture in one sitting) and for some, that’s all they want to learn. If you’re further considering attending an atelier or MFA we can talk about that and I can help you with your portfolio.
