About Meagan
"Young players often start with stiff shoulders that keep them from finding a true groove. I recall my own early days struggling to keep a steady pulse while fiddling in a cramped Chicago pub.
After 13 years gigging in Americana bands, I rely on the Certificate in Traditional Music I earned from the Old Town School of Folk Music to anchor my methods. I teach spiccato and staccato bowing along with essential vibrato, scales, and arpeggios. My practice covers grade exam prep for ABRSM or Trinity students seeking a firm foundation in ear training. I truly enjoy watching a student finally catch the rhythm of a reel after weeks of hard work."

"Oral traditions rely on listening first before the bow even touches the string. Imagine sitting across from me as we trade phrases until the melody feels like part of your own memory.
My degree informs how I break down complex ornamentation into digestible, repeatable patterns for all levels. I provide free bowing and posture reference notes after each lesson to keep you on track. Technique exists to serve the music, not the other way around.
We focus on natural physical movement. I love seeing the music click into place for my students."
