Details

My price is a little under what you might pay for professional PM tutoring or coaching.

A group prep course will cost you at a minimum 1400 US dollars for 4 days of full-time classroom lecture. Many prep courses cost as much as $2995.

Doing it my way will only cost you 65-130 dollars USD. These lessons are 1 on 1 and individualized. Your hours can be counted toward the 35 hours required to register for the PMP.

As an individual, I can be negotiable as well.

  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

My interest in project management and education started early in my career, when I realized that many talented professionals struggled not because they lacked ability, but because they lacked guidance in how to structure, plan, and complete their work. While owning a small construction company, I needed to learn more about project management. I began mentoring colleagues informally, and that naturally evolved into teaching and private tutoring. Over the years—and after earning certifications such as PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, and DASM, and working in leadership, business, and academic settings—I discovered that I love helping others gain clarity and confidence. Tutoring gives me a direct way to do that. I am happiest when I am teaching others something that I love.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I teach a blend of Project Management, Entrepreneurship, and Business Communication. These areas intersect beautifully because they are all about planning, structure, decision-making, and execution.

    I especially enjoy helping students:

Understand Agile, Predictive, and Hybrid methodologies
Prepare for PMP, CAPM, ACP, DASM, PRINCE2 exams
Build project schedules, WBS structures, risk plans, and stakeholder strategies
Strengthening real-world leadership and communication skills
Improving clarity in writing, proposals, and presentations
I prefer teaching concepts in a way that helps students truly apply them in real world situations. I love teaching project management. I have earned the PMI APT instructor certification for CAPM, PMP, ACP, and DAF.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Yes—several. I had a professor who taught management with such clarity and enthusiasm that it changed how I view it. They emphasized critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and clear communication, all of which shaped my own teaching philosophy. She helped me through my entire dissertation process and without her, I would not have made it through successfully. I also draw inspiration from mentors in the project management field who model discipline, empathy, and lifelong learning. Project management can be used in any industry. It can also be used to make improvements in your life.
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

A great tutor is a combination of:

Expertise – knowing your subject deeply and staying updated
Clarity – breaking down complexity into simple, actionable steps
Patience – meeting students where they are without judgment
Empathy – understanding what each learner needs to succeed
Adaptability – changing your teaching approach when needed
Encouragement – helping students recognize their strengths
Agreeability and approachability- students need to trust their tutor to listen without judgement and provide a safe space to make mistakes. Without, these traits, students will not feel comfortable bringing their concerns and issues to their tutor, trainer, or teacher.
Above all, a good tutor creates a supportive space where students feel empowered, capable, and motivated.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

One of my early project management students told me, after passing their exam, “You didn’t just teach me the content—you taught me to understand it, use it, and how to pass a difficult exam.” That statement sticks with me because it captures my philosophy: mastering project management is about learning how to analyze, plan, and lead effectively.

When students are successful, I have been successful.
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still face in your subject?

Project management, construction, and leadership can be overwhelming because they require balancing multiple disciplines, codes, frameworks, and people simultaneously. Early on, I struggled with perfectionism, wanting every detail to be flawless and complete. Over time, I learned that effective project managers balance many projects and they will all be completed successfully but sometimes overlap and delays are unavoidable. I have learned to be agile which means that I can be graceful on my feet willing to pivot at any moment without falling down or falling apart.

In teaching, the challenge is meeting learners at all levels exactly where they are when they arrive: beginners may feel intimidated, while advanced practitioners may want to refine their expertise. I love the challenge because it pushes me to teach with both rigor and empathy.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I am passionate about teaching with clarity, empowering students to reach goals they once believed were out of reach. I also love simplifying complex material—whether on the PMP exam or another subject, I make students feel capable and confident.

Outside teaching, I am deeply passionate about community impact, especially through my nonprofit and construction work aimed at helping families rebuild after natural disasters.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions :-P)?

    “Where empathy meet expertise”

    I’m a Superprof because I bring:

Real industry experience in project management, construction, leadership, and business
Strong academic credentials, research background, over 21 years as an educator
A personalized, structured, proven tutoring approach
A student-centered mindset focused on confidence
    University-level teaching and course development
    Multiple professional certifications
A proven ability to simplify difficult concepts
A supportive, structured, and motivating teaching style
High expectations paired with genuine encouragement
I love to teach and learn
It makes me happy and brings me joy.
Every learner has gifts and I seek to discover those gifts and teach my students how to leverage them. My students succeed because I teach with clarity, commitment, and strategy—and because I truly care about helping each learner reach their goals.
