About Simon
I am a full-time professional drummer and drum tutor based in Hitchin. I've performed on national TV and at some of the UK’s most prestigious venues, including Hyde Park, Brixton Academy and Scala. Projects I've been involved with have received extensive national and international radio play. I achieved a 1st Class Honours BMus from ACM in 2012, also receiving the 'Outstanding Student' award for the Degree drums course.

My lessons are either 30 or 60 minutes long depending on the age and requirements of the student; I teach all ability levels from age 7 upwards.
I cover first steps on the instrument, technical development, stylistic awareness, reading, repertoire, music theory and preparation for Trinity and Rockschool grades when required. And most importantly, having fun playing the drums!
I have been teaching privately for 11 years and have also taught in studio and school settings. I have taken students from complete beginner to Grade 8 level, and have a 100% pass rate in exams.
