About Carol
Hello my name is Ms Carol Price-Pahulu. I have been a permanent full time primary school teacher for the past 20 years. My passion is creative arts and picture books. I enjoy teaching English by using visual and performing arts in my lessons. I like my lessons to have a purpose and be practical and useful to the learning. I am also a life-long learner and love to learn new things everyday. I believe I learn just as much from my students as they do from me while I'm teaching. It would be my honor and pleasure to work with you. :)

My lessons are aimed at students from Kindergarten to year 6.
I believe my method of teaching is based on the student's individual needs the 3 most common methods I use are:
1. Project-Based Method-- students are given different types of topics that are useful for them personally and academically. A teacher has to determine the objectives of learners to work on the curriculum. The teacher has to design a project that’ll be the final result of the term or course. After that, students complete individual tasks for reaching the goal. Learners should totally understand the evaluation criteria, so they know what to do to get the appropriate grade.
2.Task-Based Method--This teaching technique focuses on developing skills and competencies that students need in their every-day life. The examples of tasks can be booking a plane ticket or buying something from a shop. Teachers should understand the students' objectives to build up the topics. This technique helps students succeed while completing the tasks they really need.
3.Storyboard Teaching--Any information told in the form of a story is usually best remembered. That’s why using storyboards is one of the great ways of teaching new material effectively. Creating a storyboard helps to explain complicated topics in an easy way because of the visualization of the story. Using storyboards also helps to develop students' imagination.
