About Joshua
I love working for a teaching hospital, especially Level 1 Trauma, we are able to expose our students and new grads to so much more. I have been helping people learn and gain confidence in their clinical knowledge for over 10 years. I have taught ACLS/BLS and Cardiopulmonary A/P for 8 years at the same Hospital also. My experience with ECMO, Hemodynamics, Critical Care etc. makes me an excellent resource for you. I remember starting out and how overwhelming it was, I was fortunate to find great mentors to help me and I wish to pay that forward.

I have been working in a Trauma 1 Academic Hospital for over 10 years and we teach every day. From new students (RN, MD, Rad. etc.) to graduates starting new careers, being able to explain complex and difficult subjects is part of my daily work. I teach with a simple philosophy in mind a favorite teacher of mine used, "Whatever you are going to teach, start simply." Learning new things, especially in Science and Health, can be overwhelming; starting simply and then building on that keeps it manageable. I utilize my personal work experience in addition to my academic knowledge, to help break down difficult material. For example: If you were learning about Ventilator Management there are so many different names for the various modalities, it is absurd. A ventilator works on two principles period. Principle 1: A Volume or a Pressure is set to be delivered Principle 2: Whatever is set to be delivered the other varies breath to breath. If a Volume is set to be delivered, then the Pressure varies breath to breath. If a Pressure is set to be delivered, then the Volume varies breath to breath. All the different names for volume modes and pressure modes on ventilators are proprietary nonsense (mostly). Don't let the number of names scare you, break each one down to Volume or Pressure and it becomes much easier. This is just a quick example of how I break down topics to make them easier to understand. I am open to helping you learn in any way that will help you succeed and can tailor my approach to the individual student not just broad stroke learning. I look forward to helping you learn!
