  • What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

I started with badminton 'as usual' I would say, playing with friends and family outside in the garden. The sport caught me from the first moment so my parents signed me up for training sessions. I started to play professionally from 14-15 years of age.
  • What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

My favourite sports instead of badminton are definitely swimming and running which I am trying to practice in a more 'professional' manner and then as a hobby table tennis. I would definitely like to discover triathlon as a sport.
  • What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?

My motivation in badminton is the great players and their technique, they always motivate me to get better through some online content. Sometimes even my students can motivate me through their passion and fast learning
  • Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?

There are some badminton achievements (winning some tournaments) from high school which I am proud of, but also running a half-marathon in under 2 hours is quite a sporting achievement for me.
  • How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?

I would say definitely they made me a better person. You learn so many human skills through training and doing any kind of sport, like patience, determination or consistency. Achieving something in your sport can make those skills even greater.
  • If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

I would go for a badminton match with Viktor Axelsen and a swim with Michael Phelps. I would probably ask them what is their daily routine/training and what makes them the best in their field.
  • How do you help people stay motivated?

I help people stay motivated by always encouraging them to think positively and saying that they matter.
  • What makes you a Superprof in sports?

I think what makes me Superprof in sports is endurance, patience and determination to get there and achieve the goal I want. Also I am trying to stay positive and motivated and motivate others as well.
