About Andrea
I am a qualified RAD ballet teacher, Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) instructor and qualified Pilates instructor, with over 12 years of professional ballet experience in South Africa and the USA and more than 13 years of teaching experience.
My professional experience as a dancer, together with my training in PBT and Pilates, has given me a broad understanding of movement, technique and physical conditioning. I enjoy bringing these different areas together to help students develop a stronger understanding of their bodies and how they move.
I teach because I enjoy helping dancers discover their potential and seeing the difference that greater understanding, strength and confidence can make. For me, teaching is about more than learning steps or exercises — it is about helping each student develop skills that support their dancing and movement in a positive and sustainable way.
My goal is to create a welcoming environment where students feel supported, encouraged and comfortable learning, while also being challenged to grow and achieve their individual goals.

I offer personalised Ballet, Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) and Pilates lessons for students aged 10 through to adults, with lessons taught in English. You can choose to focus on Ballet, PBT, Pilates, or a combination of these disciplines, depending on your experience, abilities and goals.
My teaching is supportive, encouraging and individualised. I believe students learn best when they understand how and why the body moves, rather than simply repeating movements. I focus on developing strength, coordination, control, alignment and body awareness alongside technical skills.
A typical lesson is tailored to your individual needs and may include ballet technique and vocabulary, PBT exercises to strengthen and support your dancing, or Pilates-based exercises focusing on core strength, stability, mobility and body awareness. I provide clear explanations and individual feedback so you understand what you are doing and how to improve.
My lessons are suitable for beginner through advanced students, including those preparing for ballet examinations, dancers wanting to supplement their training, students returning to ballet, and adults wanting to improve their movement, strength or confidence.

Details
Please note:
- First free trial lesson of 30 minutes.
- Travelling fees are R100.
- If you are not able to have the lesson at your home and require a space to use, I have a hall which can be rented at an additional fee of R150.
- Once your lessons have been scheduled, I will provide an indemnity form and lesson agreement outlining payment details and my cancellation policy. These will be explained clearly before your lessons begin.
