About Houston
I hold a masters' degree in Education from McGill and an English Language Teaching certificate (CELTA) from Cambridge University. I have been an English/IELTS teacher for the past 17 years. I have experience teaching both young learners (aged 6-18 years) and adults.
I speak the French language too, so I can help francophone students when they have difficulty understanding some words/concepts. I am highly patient with students, especially those with special needs. I prioritize my work and meet deadlines with strong attention to detail. I am highly collaborative with a great ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.

My classes are highly communicative and revolve around students' needs. I plan my lessons based on the performance of students in each class. As such, my classes are productive and meet the needs and expectations of my students! In group classes, however, I put students in pairs and groups to collaborate with each other when completing a task. This leads to an excessive amount of language production which enhances students' language skills and awareness. The teacher's role monitors students' performance, take notes of their problems, and give them appropriate feedback.
