Basics of sewing for beginners. Creating clothes from drawings and designing to wearing the finished garment. Alterations, personalising and transforming.

I am the mother of Sabrina and I know her background and how her sewing knowledge has developed over the years.
Sabrina attended fashion, design and handcraft classes in a good french school where she learned sewing, making patterns, and created clothes and costumes. Afterward, Sabrina specialised in costumes for DTMS, Diploma of the technicians, for the entertainment industries, and did her traineeship at the Opera of Avignon in south of France
Her first two years of study were in Avignon, then she moved to Lyon to finish her studies. She has worked at an alternation shop and launderette during the summer holidays. 
Since then, she has made herself many clothes as well as transforming and personalising them. She offer as well to do repaires for the clothes of friends or colleagues and when the opportunity comes, she makes a creations, the most recent was for a ballet performance in Haarlem, Netherlands where Sabrina made over forty costumes for the performance.
Having lived in several countries, Sabrina has gained vast experience and has a real international appreciation of design and fashion. Now she is in England, I think her project of teaching sewing to students or adults is a very good thing as she is very passionate about this discipline and has a lot of experience to share.

It’s my pleasure to provide this letter of recommendation for Sabrina as she seeks a career teaching sewing and design. As Sabrina’s partner, I’ve observed closely her past projects in which she has participated. Sabrina showed excellent communication skills and consistently exceeded expectations. On a personal level she is charismatic and well-spoken, both qualities that have served her well when carrying out work with people of many nationalities.
First, Sabrina has an understanding of market trends and instincts for identifying and pursuing new and exciting designs. Not only does she provide stellar service to existing clients, but she has established a number of new clients through her hard work and volunteering to help in various shows in the countries she has lived in. Last June, for instance, Sabrina designed, made and wore costumes for a ballet performance in the Netherlands and played a major role in the design of the various costumes worn by over 100 people that day. Sabrina has the combination of business acumen and communication skills that makes her an outstanding asset to any project she decides to join.
Second, Sabrina has a very strong grasp of the fashion and design industry. She knows designing and alterations and helps relay technical information to people in an accessible way. She explains products and processes clearly and makes the most of technological avenues to gain new leads and customize potential new services to clients. During an early project, I observed her discuss in detail with a prospective client the specific ways that costume design could enhance the look of people in a dance show. By monitoring clients’ wishes and needs, she provides each one a with personalised service to meet his/her needs. Sabrina makes the most of technology to find new prospects, provide modern solutions, and drive results.
Finally, Sabrina has proven herself to be a strong cultural fit with all she has worked with. She is always ready to lend a helping hand to his teammates and contributes during brainstorming sessions and meetings. Sabrina supports her colleagues professionally and personally and always strives to inspire and improve.
