About Jb
I have been teaching bass since the year 2003, in all these years as a Bass Guitar Tutor I have encountered all kinds of situations and I always managed to resolve them. What could work with one particular student may not with another, so, I think the key is try to really understand the particular needs and demands of each student and find the best way to help them to overcome their challenges. My lessons cover a wide variety of styles such as
-Rock
-Pop
-Blues
-Jazz
-Funk
-Latin Jazz
and also the required music theory as well
-Reading/writing music on musical staff and tabs
-Harmony: chords, scales and intervals, chord notation
-Rhythm training: learn how to follow the beat, solfege your basslines, etc.
On the first lessons, we mainly focus on the basic techniques such as
-Fretting hand technique. Develop strenght, endure and independency on your fingers
-Plucking hand: rest stroke, free strocke, slap, popping, etc.
Then, we gradually start incorporating the use of scales, arpeggios and patterns in general. We apply all that in building bass lines, bass solos and melodies from scratch.
In the between of all the above, we also have learn and develop songs from your favorite players and interpreters.
