About Lerato
I am a Bcom Financial Accounting graduate. I completed my degree in 2018. I have been working as a private tutor since the beginning of this year. Helping learners from grade 1 to 7 with mathematics and English. From these lessons, I've had to come up with tailored methods that will help my learners understand the curriculum according to their level of understanding. These methods also had to cater to their way of thinking. This included learning comprehension and the art of reading English not only as a subject but also as a form of communication. This has shown so much improvement in my former learners in a way that they were able to focus on the language in order to clearly express themselves and not to just pass.

My teaching Methodology included the following :
a) Using their imagination (which encourages creative thinking).
b) Using colours (which promotes mental arletness).
c) Demonstrations (it helps because real events raise interest)
d) Saying it out loud (this is proven to stimulate long term memory. I also use this method to study).
e) Motivation (This method works all the time, both on adults and children. The more our efforts are recognized, no matter how small we always strive to do better next time).
f) Paying attention (sometimes teachers focus on irrelevant areas in students which turn most of the sessions uninteresting and non-progressive. For instance a person might be taking too long to understand a phrase, as a teacher you need to identify the root of a problem that could be factors other than reading. It could be that the person does not know the context from which the question is asked or the scenario is given.
