About Π
My name is pi. I'm 43.
I majored in pure math. I taught myself to code. I've tutored in Oxford since 2000, both privately and in Tutorial Colleges. I've tutored a winner of the Russian Mathematical Olympiad.
In 2018 I flew to Denver and lead a team (as principal software architect / CTO) to build the world's highest performant ultrasound MODEM, which is now used across sports stadiums in the USA and by militaries.
I've always enjoyed building things. I'm currently building a mobile game for children to acquire Perfect Pitch (using Python/C++).
I am self-taught.
My hobbies include tennis (Oxford Div1), chess (ELO 2000) and Kalari.

The way to learn is by having FUN! By playing!
Over the years I've worked with dozens of technologies and languages: Win/Mac/Linux/iOS/Android/Embedded, C/C++/Python/Swift/Web/DSP/ML/...
I find fulfilment in tutoring. I will work with beginners and experts alike. My only requirement is that you are eager to learn. My role will be to awaken your intelligence and bring discipline to your critical thinking. If your goal is merely to get a top grade or university placement, think bigger! What do you wish to CREATE?
To succeed you must learn to navigate the Information Matrix. IT is constantly evolving. There's no yellow-brick road to success, and the rockstars of IT are self-starters (Gates, Torvalds, Lattner, Musk, ...).
To match pace, you have to learn how to learn. To tap into your latent potential: proactive, creative, resourceful, intelligent, organized. Resources (IRC / Discord / StackOverflow / GitHub). Networking.
The key is HOW you learn. It's a way of moving the mind. You'll get the hang of it.
I work to make myself redundant. The moment you reach the point where you no longer need me, my work is done.
Lessons will be remote. Math works better sharing a sheet of paper, but for IT/coding, remote works perfectly.
