About SHUWEN
I am currently studying for my Masters Degree in Marketing at Brunel University, but teach Chinese to various Students in my free time. I am an outgoing, warm and friendly person who is always willing to give everything to help someone else. I feel not only passionate but also feel I am technically skilled to teach Chinese at a high level. Throughout School my Chinese score was always above 120 (150 in total) and I achieved third place in the Annual “National Chinese Composition Championship” in 2004.
I was born in a “Family of Teachers”. Both of my Grandparents were Teachers, and I was also a Teacher in China. When I taught in China, I was not just a teacher for my students but also friend to them and developed a bond where they could trust and confide with me. One IB level Student I taught could, after 8 weeks (2 hours per week), learn and understand complete sentences when I spoke slowly.
In my Classes, I not only focus on learning efficiency, but also aim to make learning Chinese fun for the student, and make them passionate to learn the language which makes them work harder and learn and improve faster.
I can teach all types of Mandarin, such as Speaking (in standard accent), Reading, Listening and Writing up to A-Level standard. For Speaking, I can also provide the Professional Chinese Textbook for foreigners (Beijing Language and Culture University edited).
