About Ben
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have over 7 years teaching experience, teaching people of all ages and abilities. I also teach in a variety of schools in London. I have vast experience teaching and playing all musical styles and can cater the lessons to anything a student is passionate about.
As a musician I've been able to play with some of the best musicians around such as, Dave Holland, Dave Douglas, John Hollenbeck and Kenny wheeler. I have performed leading my own bands and as a side musician in venues including, Royal Albert Hall, Barbican, Koko, 606 club, the Vortex, the Green Note, the Forge and Ronnie Scott's.
Composition is a big part of my musical life and have written music for varying musical situations including, big bands, string quartets, vocal groups, and full orchestras.

Yes, I have a recent DBS check.
- Where and with whom did you train?
At the Royal Academy Of Music I learned trumpet and composition with: Nick Smart, Mike Lovatt, Pete Churchill, Barak Schmool, Liam Noble, Chris Batchelor, Phill Robson and Stan Sulzmann.

Hi, I provide a lesson that is fully catered to the needs of each student and their passion for any genre of music. I strive to create an environment where musical expression and improvisation is used to develop a student into a rounded musician.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach all brass instruments: Trumpet, Trombone, Cornet, french horn, Euphonium, tuba and beginner piano in every style imaginable.
Theory & composition.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I studied at the Royal Academy Of Music where i learned and played with some of the best musicians in their field, graduating with a BMus (Hons). I have obtained The LRAM (Liscency of the Royal Academy of Music) music teaching diploma.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £30 pr hour. Could charge a bit more depending on how much traveling is involved.
- Where do you teach?
All over London! I can teach at home if that is easier.
- When are you available?
I'm very flexible with teaching hours, evenings and weekends are all fine.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I have taught kids of 4 years old up to adults in their 40s. Anyone can learn!
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
All grades from 1-8 on both ABRSM Grades and Trinity Guildhall Grades.
I can also provide tuition on: GSCE Exams, A level Exams and entry to higher education.
