About Mitch
French has always been a big part of my life. I am originally from Mauritius, where I grew up speaking French at home, at school, and in everyday life.
French continued to be part of my academic journey through high school and university, which helped me strengthen both my communication skills and my understanding of the language. I also completed the TCF as part of my journey to Canada, so I understand what it feels like to prepare for a French test and build confidence under pressure.
Today, I still use French regularly in my everyday life and in my role as a bilingual Financial Analyst, working with clients and colleagues in Quebec and Toronto. I enjoy helping learners feel more comfortable using French, whether it is for school, conversation, work, travel, or personal goals.
My approach is friendly, patient, and practical. I want learners to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving step by step.

My lessons are adapted to each learner’s needs, level, and goals. For children, I can help with school French, homework, reading, vocabulary, sentence building, and becoming more comfortable speaking French. For adults, I focus more on practical conversation, everyday communication, reading, and building confidence when using French in real situations.
A typical lesson usually starts with a quick review, then we focus on the area that needs the most attention, whether that is speaking, reading, vocabulary, homework, or test-style practice. I like to keep lessons clear, practical, and interactive, so learners are not just memorizing French, but actually using it.
I can also help with TCF preparation, especially speaking practice, vocabulary, and becoming familiar with the test format, as I have taken the TCF myself.
My goal is to help learners feel more confident, comfortable, and natural when using French.
