About Irfan
I am a native Indonesian speaker, who is also perfectly bilingual with English at a native level. I believe this is what sets me apart from other Indonesian language tutors - I can seamlessly understand your concerns and language thought process in both English and Indonesian. Speaking a language stems from how your mind processes reality and puts your expression into words. Being perfectly bilingual, I can approach your learning process from either perspective.
I am a former NAATI certified translator (Indonesian to English). I did not renew my licence due to personal costs. However, the knowledge does not go away - if anything it grows. I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and lived there until I moved for my high school in New Zealand, and consequently for university and work in Australia. I am also reasonably fluent in Javanese, which means I can also teach you some additional aspects of Indonesia's rich language diversity.

My teaching method is what works best for you. Normally, one session covers an informational / explanatory section of the topic being covered, and then the remaining would cover a practice session where you attempt to practice what you just learned and then go through the results with feedback. However, that is just how I structure my lesson with most of my students - because that method works for them. What works for you, is completely up to you.

I highly recommend Irfan as a tutor. He structures his classes based on students' aims and goals, and provides lesson plans. He's knowledgeable, patient and engaging.
