About Ivan
My journey into teaching Russian is a testament to my passion for language and culture, as well as my dedication to helping others unlock their potential. As a qualified translator and localisation specialist in the Russian language, I bring a wealth of theoretical knowledge and practical experience to every lesson. It's my firm belief that language learning should be both immersive and communicative, which is why I prioritise creating an engaging and relevant learning environment. By incorporating real-life situations into our lessons, I aim to inspire confidence in each student's ability to learn and communicate effectively. I've chosen teaching as my path because it allows me to combine my expertise with my desire to empower others. Whether it's through private tutoring or online classes, I take pride in guiding students of all ages and proficiency levels towards their language learning goals. For me, teaching is not just a profession; it's a calling—an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of my students while sharing my love for the Russian language and culture.

- During our lessons, we will focus on creating an immersive and communicative learning environment. I believe in practical language use, so I incorporate real-life situations into my lessons to make the learning experience more engaging and relevant. - Typically, my lessons run for about 60 to 90 minutes. I find this duration strikes a balance between covering substantial material and keeping the students' attention and energy levels up. Throughout the session, I integrate various activities, breaks, and resources in order to ensure an interactive and dynamic learning experience. - I am a qualified translator/localisation specialist in Russian language, so you can expect me to bring both theoretical knowledge and practical teaching experience to my sessions. Whether it's offering private tutoring or conducting online classes, I've successfully helped students of different proficiency levels achieve their language learning goals. - My lessons cater to learners of all ages and proficiency levels, from beginners to advanced students. Whether someone is learning Russian for academic, professional, or personal reasons, I tailor my approach to suit their objectives and learning style.

I studied saxophone with Ivan for about 2 years before I moved cities. He was incredibly supportive and brought my playing to a next level. Highly recommended!
Ivan is a fantastic tutor, as he is easy going and really knowledgeable. He is very accessible and has a way of making difficult things, easy to understand. He speaks clearly and slowly and is very patient without being patronising. I find social things like this, can be quite scary. But Ivan instantly put me at ease, and we had a great time. I highly recommend Ivan, he is the epic sax guy!
Ivan is incredibly relaxed and clearly very knowledgeable. Far more than I can comprehend. It makes for good learning for me as he's always able to give me nuggets of wisdom. I always feel better educated after lessons with him.
Ivan has helped our daughters achieve great marks on their ABRSM Piano Grade 8 exams and provided them with great support through their learning process
