About Salma

I have a degree in Biomedical Sciences and a CELTA (certificate in teaching English Language to Adults) qualification. Currently studying an MSc in Molecular Medicine.

I am outgoing, academically-minded and have learned foreign languages (Latin and Spanish) myself. This gives me empathy as to what the pupil is feeling when he or she does not grasp a concept or a phrase. This enables me to anticipate where I think challenges will arise and how I can prevent or rectify them.

About the lesson

I learned French when I moved to France as a 9-year-old with my parents. I quickly learned the language at school and excelled in French language and literature lessons right up to the Baccalaureate. I have a passion for teaching cultivated through earning a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) in 2013.

I will teach French language/Grammar lessons up to advanced level. My lessons are pupil-focused, depending on your needs. My lessons will always involve a lot of conversation in French as well as the grammatical and language content itself, as I believe conversation is a key way of learning and enjoying a language. If there is a particular topic you need help with, I will approach it by firstly asking you what you understand of it and where you think you need help. After that, I will explain it, giving lots of examples. I then ensure you have understood by getting you to explain it to me in your own words, and complete a few exercises (verbal and written) where the particular grammatical topic is used.
I can also offer insight into the French way of life, customs and culture for those interested, having lived there for 10 years while growing up.
