About Martina
I got my Baccalaureate degree in Humanities with Honours two years ago and then I started studying Translation and Interpreting at university; I'm going to spend my third year in Southampton as an Erasmus student. I speak fluently Spanish, Catalan and some English and I'm also learning German. I've been working for three years as a private tutor for children and teenagers of all ages (from 3 to 20 years old) teaching all kind of subjects (Maths, Spanish, Music, English...). However, as I am still studying, I just feel confident enough to teach Spanish or Catalan in Southampton.

My teaching methodology usually depends on the age of the students. As the vast majority of my students have always been children I always try to teach the lesson in a fun but also responsible way, so that they are the ones who want to learn more and take the lessons seriously.
My methodology will also depend on the student requirement: oral expression, vocabulary, grammar, written comprehension and expression... However there are some activities I try to repeat every lesson given that they have been really helpful for me during my study time. For example, I always try to take notes of the unknown words ans expressions and then remind them to the student at the end of the session. If there is enough time, I like playing some didactical games related to the lesson; I think that is a very good way to learn, especially if we are talking about children!
My students have always achieved good results and have kept a positive attitude towards the subject. I believe the key to success is trying to find their specific weaknesses and working on them.
