About Sofía
My name is Sofía, I am 23 years old and since I was a young girl I taught myself English by listening to music (learning with Green Day), watching Friends and repeating phrases, watching a lot of MTV, interacting with foreigners and training my hearing to assimilate sounds and phrases. In high school I was lucky enough to go on an exchange to Australia, in Townsville, where I had no one to speak Spanish with, thus strengthening my confidence when speaking in English, acquiring a new accent and assimilating a new culture, an aspect that is essential to keep in mind when trying to learn a new language.

My experience as a self-taught student, a student in other language institutes and experiences that I lived when working with exchange students confirm that language learning has no rules and must be based on the personality of each student. My focus will be on getting rid of embarrassment when speaking English and practicing conversational skills, gaining confidence and vocabulary, and then tweaking the necessary grammar rules.
