About Randy
My name is Billy Cooper, and I've been playing guitar for over 8 years — across acoustic, folk, and fingerstyle traditions. I've performed as a solo artist, accompanied other musicians, and taught guitar in private and group settings for the last 6 years. I also work with singer-songwriters who want to develop their guitar skills and arrange their original music. My students trust me because I'm warm, supportive, and I always tailor lessons to their personal goals and musical tastes. I've helped beginners play their first full song, singer-songwriters build confident accompaniment, and fingerstyle players develop rich, expressive arrangements. With me, you'll learn to make your guitar feel like a natural part of your musical voice.

Hi, I'm Billy Cooper. I've taught guitar for 6 years, and my focus is on helping players develop a warm, expressive sound — whether accompanying their own voice, playing fingerstyle instrumentals, or exploring acoustic folk traditions. I work with beginners discovering the instrument, singer-songwriters who want to strengthen their accompaniment, and players wanting to develop fingerpicking skills. We start with good posture, hand position, and basic chord shapes. I teach you to switch chords smoothly, develop a steady rhythm, and play with a relaxed, natural feel. For fingerstyle, we build alternating bass patterns, arpeggios, and simple arrangements. I also teach you to play while singing, arrange songs for solo guitar, and build confidence performing for others. My lessons are patient, creative, and always focused on the music you love.
