About Connor
Hi, I'm Connor! I'm currently a Biochemistry PhD student at Trinity College Dublin, where my research focuses on understanding how cells use nutrients to support health and disease. My passion for biology and chemistry began in school and has continued to grow throughout my undergraduate, postgraduate, and research career.
Alongside my research, I genuinely enjoy teaching and helping students gain confidence in subjects that can often seem challenging. Whether you're preparing for the Leaving Certificate, tackling undergraduate coursework, or aiming for top exam results, I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where no question is too small.
I know from my own experience that success in science comes from understanding concepts rather than memorizing them. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed effective study techniques and exam strategies that helped me progress to PhD level, and I enjoy sharing these with my students. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students become more confident, independent learners.

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs and typically last 1–2 hours, allowing time to develop both a strong understanding of the subject and the exam skills needed to achieve top results. I believe the best way to improve is through guided practice with past exam questions, using them to identify knowledge gaps, strengthen problem-solving skills, and build confidence.
Alongside exam practice, I explain the underlying scientific concepts in a clear and accessible way, helping students understand the why behind the material rather than simply memorizing facts. I also share revision strategies, memory techniques, and exam tips that I have developed and refined throughout my own academic journey; from studying for school and university exams to completing a Biochemistry PhD. These approaches have been invaluable in helping me succeed academically, and I enjoy passing them on to help students study more effectively and reach their full potential.
