My teaching method is to see what works best for the student. Personally, I learn by seeing things that are written down, however I once had a boy who learnt by just doing questions, everyone is different. I tend to tutor students that are in years 11-13 because I find that we get on very well and I can sympathise with their situations best. I understand what it is like to be under that much pressure as I myself have been in that position. In my lessons, if you have a problem that you would like to tackle then I am happy to start there. I will always make sure that you fully understand what your exam board expects from you and what you therefore need to know. I have tutored students studying on AQA and EDEXCEL, most of the exam boards are very similar and so I would be happy to tutor someone studying on the OCR exam board. All of my exams were for AQA and that is what I am most comfortable with. I am a very bubbly person with a lot of energy and I am always willing to help people. I am not new to tutoring and my students have a lot of confidence that I will get them where they need to be- so far I have been successful with all my students. We've worked together really well and I am so pleased with the results that we've had. I'm a young person and I feel like that can be very helpful sometimes because I really understand what it's like to be under pressure in the society that we live in today and I can assure you that you are not alone.
I have been tutoring for just over 2 years now and I am slowly building up my profile. I've given over 100 lessons now as I have tutored over 20 children. My students are of a range of abilities and they have all managed to achieve the grades that they wanted to. I have had many grade 8s and 9s with children exceeding their predicted grades in both French and Biology. I managed to achieve 100% on one section of my oral and 98% on the other, I am very comfortable with speaking French as I have been learning it for 8 years now. My teaching style varies as it depends on who I am teaching, I am able to recognise that everyone has a different way of learning.

The Green House restaurant - I am was employed as a part time waitress, date started, 9th of March. I worked here until mid June. I worked on weekends during term time and weekdays during the holidays. My duties involved clearing and laying tables, as well as taking orders from customers. I am very comfortable with handling money and giving change to customers, as well as being able to operate a card machine. During my time at the Green House I had to deal with a few tricky customers who were often quite agitated and impatient, this has really helped to develop my social skills. If I was to be in situations like that again, I would have a very good understanding of what to do.
HOBBIES & INTERESTS
My hobbies and interests include cycling in the park. I also enjoy reading books of all genres and attending regular exercises at a local gym as well as playing badminton. I am a very academic person so anything which challenges me in an intellectual way interests me a lot.
In the summer of 2017 I completed the NCS programme (national citizenship service) which lasted for 4 weeks. This involved 2 residential weeks, one in which we stayed at a camping site and the other at the university of Stoke, as well as 2 weeks of volunteering. Our group volunteered at the Lichfield canal and we also made a campaign to teach the local community basic first aid skills and to educate them on the importance of first aid through the use of leaflets and posters that we made ourselves. In completing the NCS programme I was able to gain many valuable skills such as team work, perseverance skills and management skills as I was put into group of 14 other young people between the ages of 15-16. The programme helped my confidence to develop and allowed me to push myself in ways that I could have never imagined. At school, I am currently the house captain of my house as well as a house prefect, this involves me running house events and monitoring certain areas of the school at least once a week. Furthermore, on the 16th of March I was able to represent my school as the main speaker in a public speaking competition in which we argued our case to keep the British Monarchy in place. Our team consisted of myself and two other members of the school debate team and we each had a different role to play in order to create a speech lasting for an overall 20 minutes. Our school won out of the 7 other schools that competed against us and I won the overall best main speaker out of everyone, it was a very successful evening. I also achieved a bronze in the Chemistry olympiad that I did at school, this was a very challenging paper but the effort and hard work paid off.
I currently volunteer in year 7 French lessons every Wednesday morning for an hour and I have found this extremely rewarding as I am able to directly see the children benefiting from my help. Moreover, I am an academic mentor to a year 8 child and I help him to organise his school work and to offer him advice and support in any other problems and challenges that he is facing. Furthermore, I have done voluntary work at Saxon Hill school for a year where I assisted with a range of age groups of children with special needs. I did this every week for an hour and I was very fortunate as the children were extremely grateful and responsive to my presence. I organised a ‘pink day’ at my school in order to raise money and awareness for my form tutor who has unfortunately been diagnosed with breast cancer. We managed to raise £2338.52, this was an outstanding amount and my tutor was beyond touched.
