Patience and communication. Flexible and tailored to the student. I find example questions and working through them in detail works well. Practice makes perfect, and seeing a variety of questions on the same topic can really help to broaden knowledge. Can teach to the level the student desires.
I have previously tutored in GCSE maths and science and had great results. I am also used to working with young people and teenagers in various environments, so am able to adapt to each students individual needs to get the best results from them.

Nearly 5 years worth of work experience in retail with my parents in a family run business. This involved using a till and having good communication skills, along with regular stock replenishment and cashing up. The business is a sweet shop, so I also have experience in hygienic environments.
Work experience within Cheltenham general hospital within the anaesthetics department. I shadowed the head anaesthetist and had roles such as the preparation of medicines and filing of paperwork, whilst also having the invaluable experience of talking to patients and understanding their ailments.
Work experience at Gloucester Road Primary School. I helped the children with their reading and writing, aiding them in all subjects. This further improved my communication and empathy skills, whilst often having to take on a leadership role.
Head of house and head of sport. In her report, my house mistress said “Katie is my go-to-girl, and I can rely on her involvement whole-heartedly for any events. She is a delightful asset to the house and is punctual, polite and smart with a positive attitude and a very friendly manner, I enjoy her company enormously. I would definitely recommend her for a leadership role”.
County squash player. Representing Gloucestershire, I have one several tournaments. I enjoy the opportunity to be a part of a team.
Playing other sports such as netball and tennis. Attended county trials for both and had the opportunity to do my level one coaching courses in both. I often captain the teams.
Sign language qualification. I have completed my stage one sign language qualification which consisted of three exams, each if increasing difficulty. I am planning to continue this in the future.
Public speaking/ debating competitions. I have recently entered public speaking and debating competitions where I have placed as highly commended. After putting forward my arguments I had to think on my feet and defend my arguments from questioning.
Two years of working with young people on the NCS programme, teaching them valuable work and life skills, whilst also helping them realise their potential.
