About Mery
I am a passionate and goal-oriented flute tutor with 11 years of teaching experience and around 150 students successfully mentored. I specialise in guiding students through a structured learning journey that builds both technical mastery and expressive ability.
My teaching emphasises breath control, embouchure strength, tone quality, articulation techniques, finger accuracy, and rhythm consistency. As students gain confidence, I introduce advanced repertoire and performance preparation. I carefully assess each student’s strengths and areas for improvement to create personalised lesson plans.
My unique strength is combining patience with high standards, ensuring that students stay disciplined while feeling supported. I encourage regular practice and continuous self-improvement. My ultimate goal is to shape confident, technically strong, and passionate flute players who enjoy lifelong musical growth.

My flute teaching methodology emphasises individualised learning, adaptability, collaboration, and positivity. I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style, pace, and musical goals to ensure effective progress.
Lessons focus on posture, breath control, embouchure, tone clarity, finger coordination, and rhythm accuracy. I introduce progressive exercises, scales, and articulation practice, gradually moving towards expressive playing, phrasing, and stylistic interpretation.
I also teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and rhythm understanding to develop well-rounded musical knowledge. This helps students connect technical proficiency with musical expression.
Flexibility allows me to adjust lessons based on performance, exam preparation, or personal learning goals. Collaboration is encouraged through discussions, repertoire selection, and feedback sessions.
I maintain a positive and motivating learning environment where students feel supported and encouraged. My aim is to develop confident, technically skilled, and expressive flute players.
