About Arabella
With 6 years of teaching and performing experience, I am an experienced violin tutor committed to helping students achieve technical mastery, artistic expression, and personal growth. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners exploring foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.
One of the most fulfilling milestones of my career has been guiding students from struggling with technique, posture, or rhythm to performers capable of playing with skill, emotion, and expressive interpretation. My teaching emphasises building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance.
I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to ensure students gain a comprehensive understanding of music. Lessons are personalised to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a patient, supportive, and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and reach their full potential.
Teaching violin allows me to cultivate confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion for music.

I teach violin using a methodology focused on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to develop technically skilled, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are personalised for each student, blending structured technical exercises, creative exploration, improvisation, and performance practice.
Motivation drives growth. I help students set realistic goals, monitor progress, and celebrate milestones, building perseverance, self-confidence, and a lifelong love for music. Students are encouraged to see challenges as opportunities for growth, fostering resilience and determination.
Communication ensures lessons are interactive and supportive. Students are invited to ask questions, share challenges, and explore ideas freely, creating a positive and collaborative learning environment.
Creativity is central to my approach. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises help students develop their artistic voice and emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, fostering habits that ensure consistent growth and excellence.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and piano, providing a complete musical foundation that nurtures both technical mastery and artistic development.
