Every lesson with me is different and tailored towards YOUR interests and requirements! After having an initial conversation, I draw up personalised lesson plans with our final goal in mind. I use exercises, games and techniques that make the process of learning fun and engaging! I also refer to Hindi songs, film scripts, stand-up comedy acts, poems and videos in my lessons for you to truly connect with the language and culture.
In a globalised world, India is becoming popular for foreign direct investment, business, travel, culture, performing arts and is also the spiritual hub of the world. More people are keen to learn Hindi, and I would be excited to assist you on the journey!
FUN FACT: HINDI IS THE 4TH MOST SPOKEN LANGUAGE IN THE WORLD!
How many sessions a week do you recommend?
After having assessed your aims and time-frame in our free trial session, I will recommend a timeline that suits your schedule. I understand that time is often a constraint, so I do set work for you to do or practise in your free time, be it on your commute, lunch break, or weekend.
When can I expect to see results?
The process of learning a language is different for everyone, and it would be wrong for me to guarantee a specific time-frame. However, I can ensure that my lessons will be jam-packed, and my ultimate aim is to see you progress as fast as possible. Rest assured, my students have been really pleased with their progress, and I've seen them truly fall in love with the Hindi language.
What type of students do you teach?
Well, unlike my choice of men, I don't have a "type" when it comes to students. I've taught people from all levels; those who didn't know a word of Hindi, and those who wanted to delve deeper. My students have been between the ages of 8 to 65, so there really aren't any limits. You are never too young or too old to learn a language.
When I speak in Hindi, my accent sounds really out of place. Can you help me with this?
Don’t worry, you’re not alone on this! Pronunciation is something that takes time for your tongue to get around, especially as there are so many sounds in the Hindi language. Hindi is a phonetic language- it is pronounced how it is spelt. This is why it is quite useful to learn how to read the language to really understand the different sounds. I specialise in Hindi diction, and this something that can be worked upon and improved.
I love watching Bollywood films. Will this course help me to understand the films better?
Agar tum kisi cheez ko pure dil se chaho, toh puri kaynath use milane mein lag jayegi! If you understood this reference, then you are definitely a Bollywood fan! Watching Bollywood films is a great way to test your language comprehension skills. I will also recommend a list of films for you to watch that will help you with your Hindi skills.
Is Hindi a difficult language to learn?
There’s no fixed answer to this. For some, Hindi is a language they can pick up quickly and intuitively, for others it may be a bit more difficult to get their head around. The process of learning a Hindi is such a fulfilling one that as long as you’re seeing little steps of progress, you know you’re on the right track.
What is your schedule like?
I tend to have a flexible schedule, so I am usually able to accommodate most of the requested times.
If something else comes up, can I cancel?
I completely understand that this can happen sometimes, so I am happy to reschedule the lesson as long as you let me know 24 hours in advance (you could get away with 20 hours too if you're nice to me).
Who am I?
- Ex-Lawyer- I gave up a potentially lucrative Law career to pursue my creative inclinations. I packed my bags to shift to Mumbai and acted in films, theatre shows, TV shows and TV commercials.
- Writer- I work on developing fiction scripts, and I sometimes write sales copies too!
- Actress- In between preparing your lesson plans, I go to auditions, drink free cups of coffee in my vanity van and pull lots of faces in front of a camera.
I've learnt Hindi from scratch. Living in India helped me understand the nuances and culture even closer. It has taken me many years to fully master the Hindi language, but it gives me great joy in having come a full circle and being able to pass on my love for the Hindi language to others.
It sounds clichéd, but teaching truly brings me satisfaction. I look forward to helping you develop your Hindi language skills!
Perfect! Suhani is brilliant! Firstly, she replied to my enquiry really quickly and we had an initial discussion to go through my requirements. She then created a lesson plan specifically for me and explained how the classes would work. Each class/lesson is slightly different, which makes the learning process interesting. She uses a range of tools including playing Hindi movie clips, Youtube videos, wordgames etc, which is a lot of fun. As I had already purchased a Hindi book, she even kindly incorporated it into the lesson plan. I'd happily recommend her to anyone looking to learn (read/write/speak) Hindi.
Incredibly dedicated and a pleasure to teach!
I have worked with Suhani on numerous occasions, and I cannot recommend her services enough. She engrosses herself in the task on hand, and finds out of the box solutions. Her kind and caring nature makes working with Suhani an easy and pleasant experience.
I have known Suhani for 5 years and she is ever so patient and always ready to help. I love her energy, and she has a lot to give! Highly recommended!
Suhani has a unique way of teaching, and she is always striving to help her students reach their goals in the most efficient and enjoyable way possible. She is sincere and dedicated, and I would highly recommend her lessons.
