About Rae
Hi! I’m a native Korean tutor with a background in acting and a passion for teaching — and I’m so excited to meet you on italki!
I’ve been teaching Korean on another platform where I have many regular students, and five of them take my classes every week. Now, I’m here because I want to meet even more amazing students from around the world and help you feel confident speaking real, natural Korean.
Because I studied acting, I can help you with clear pronunciation, expressive speaking, and natural intonation — so you sound like a native, not a textbook. My students often say that I make explanations really easy to understand, and that they finally “get” how Korean works.
Some of my students started with zero knowledge of Hangul, but now they can read, write, and even make sentences on their own. Step by step, you’ll build that same foundation — no pressure, no stress, just progress at your pace.
Once you feel comfortable with basic grammar and sentence structure, we’ll bring in fun materials like K-pop lyrics and K-drama lines to practice real-world Korean that’s exciting and never boring. We laugh, we learn, and we get better together.
Whether you’re a total beginner or already studying, I’ll create a customized class just for you. Let’s build your Korean skills with positive energy, clear guidance, and a touch of K-culture magic.

Perfect! Rae’s lessons are very fun and effective!. Some lessons in my office and at Rae’s home were designed around discussing drama scenes. Now our classes are mostly online – Rae focuses on practical conversations and expression tailored to my interests and goals. Thanks to Rae, I’m having more fluent conversations with my Korean friends and coworkers. Soon I’ll be able to watch K-dramas without the subtitles :-)
