About Susie
At Brain-Boost, we specialise in helping children excel in their 11+ entrance exams and KS2 SATs through expertly delivered small-group tutoring. Our mission is to build confident, capable learners who feel ready to take on every academic challenge.
With 25 years’ experience as a primary school teacher, I bring a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and passion to every tutoring session. I absolutely love teaching and, most importantly, I love seeing the moment when a child suddenly gets it and their confidence begins to grow.
I have extensive experience across the primary curriculum, including teaching SATs and 11+ preparation and understand that every child learns differently. I tailor my teaching to suit your child’s individual needs, identifying gaps in knowledge and building and securing core skills so they can make accelerated progress.
My lessons are fun, engaging and inspiring, because children learn best when they are enjoying themselves. I use a warm, encouraging approach that challenges children while making sure they feel supported and successful

Give your child the confidence, skills and preparation they need to succeed in the 11+ with Brain Boost Tutoring.
Our small-group sessions are designed for Year 4 and Year 5 children, providing focused, personalised support in a friendly and encouraging environment.
Our small-group model creates the perfect balance: personalised attention, peer motivation, and a supportive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Each 11+ tutoring session will provide a balanced, engaging programme covering English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning skills. Sessions will be tailored to each pupil's needs and abilities, focusing on developing core knowledge, problem-solving skills, confidence and exam technique.
Each 11 Plus tutoring session is two hours long, broken into four short, thirty-minute focus lessons to keep children highly engaged and ensure fast progress.
