Approach is always adapted to the student's goals, needs and learning styles. I am passionate about inspiring people of all ages to have a better understand of music.
For Music Theory, I'll teach using the ABRSM books, to help improve your knowledge in reading, writing and analysing. I am also well equipped to prepare students for Grade 5 Theory Exams, which is needed as a prerequisite for further graded practical exams.
For brass playing, I am able to prepare students for the ABRSM syllabus, but also open to lessons can be tailored to suit your needs. (Graduated from RNCM with a bachelor's degree in performance)
Weekly lessons are recommended which I prefer to give from my apartment in Hulme, but will travel within a reasonable distance though an extra travel fee may apply in some instances.
I have worked as a music teacher with the various music services in the area. Have worked as a cover teacher in conducting at Junior RNCM, teaching theory and conducting techniques. Did a teaching placement with OneEducation in 2016.
As a professional conductor, I have strong knowledge of music theory and history. I also regularly work with local orchestras, opera societies, wind orchestras and brass bands. Ensembles include BBC Philharmonic, Northern Ballet Sinfonia, Manchester Wind Orchestra, and many more. Have acted as Assistant Conductor for Sir Andrew Davis, Vassily Sinaisky, and Vasily Petrenko on projects with the BBC Philharmonic and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Currently the Music Director of Opera Viva.
A graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music - obtained a master’s degree with distinction in conducting.
